We have a really wierd issue when trying to playblast out of Maya.
In our projects directory we created a new project with shotgun, this created a folder and our default file structure within it.
We then manually created an empty folder in the same directory.
Both folders have exactly the same permissions/acl and are owned by the same user/group.
When we try to playblast in to the shotgun created folder, it creates a 1k file and then fails, but it will succeed if we playblast to the folder that we manually created.
Does shotgun lock files/folders? Have you seen this before?
