change sudo_as_login for current Shotgun API session

I'd like to see a way to change the sudo_as_login for current Shotgun API session, without having to create a new Shotgun session. This would be helpful for times where you want to updates to Shotgun but for them to appear as different users. I have a case where I am changing Version statuses for different supervisors and want it to show in the Shotgun feed that the status change was made by a particular supervisor and not a script user.

It appears you can set the current Shotgun session object (sg.config.sudo_as_login) to the login you would like to use and it works, but it's hacky and not officially supported.
