Shotgun Review for iPhone: Getting set up

Shotgun Review gives you access to all of the Versions you upload to Shotgun. This lets your team stay connected to work happening in the project when they’re away from their desks.

From your iPhone (iOS 11 or later), you’ll be able to:

  • Browse media and playlists in all your projects
  • Play back images and movies
  • Give feedback with comments, annotated frames, or camera images
  • See history on related versions and their notes

Getting started

If you’re brand new to Shotgun, you’ll first need to sign up for a Shotgun account. You can start your free trial here.

If you already have a Shotgun account, great! Make sure your team is submitting their Versions to Shotgun. If you have custom tools for submitting work, you’ll want to make sure you’re uploading media to Shotgun in a way that we expect.

NOTE: Only Versions with uploaded media will appear in the Shotgun Review app.

Installing and logging in

Once your site is ready, you can download Shotgun Review for iPhone. You’ll need an iOS device running iOS 11 or later.

To log in, use the same username and password you use to log in to Shotgun on the web. Your Shotgun site should be something like “”. For hosted sites, you don’t need to include http:// or https:// in the site field. For locally installed sites, you’ll likely need to include http:// or https:// depending on your local server settings and configuration.

Press "Sign In", you’re ready to go!

A few notes on security

We take your media’s security very seriously and we build our apps with security in mind, but we can’t control what users do on their personal devices. It’s strongly encouraged that everyone set a device passcode or—for studios requiring more control—deploy a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution. Additionally, Admins can control Shotgun Review access to a site via a Permission Setting.
